 It lasted longer than the Berlin Wall, dates back to before the Bit O'Red were founded and has seen Rovers heroes from Dixie Dean to Willie McStay passing through its gates, but the Showgrounds boundary wall was finally demolished earlier this month.It may be gone but it’s not forgotten as a piece of the old wall is now available to Sligo Rovers fans in a unique initiative that allows Bit O’Red fans to buy a little piece of Sligo History On the 2nd May 2006 the original boundary wall of the Showgrounds was finally knocked down and replaced. The wall stood for 20 years before the Bit O' Red were founded and has now established itself as a 'permanent' piece of the Showgrounds. Sligo Rovers are selling off signed pieces of the wall to supporters. All signed bricks shall be  issued in a Sligo Rovers coloured presentation box and will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, signed again by the player, Manager, Chairman and Commercial Manager.The signed bricks will be from Players and Managers of the past and make an excellent gift to someone who holds the club close to their heart.
