Cup draw Sligo Rovers have been drawn to play Derry City in The Showgrounds in the semi-final of the Carlsberg FAI Cup. The plum tie of the round, taking place in the last weekend of October is set to be a sell-out and will also be televised live. Speaking to sligorovers.com after the draw, manager Sean Connor was delighted with the home fixture. “There’s no doubt that it’s going to be a tough one. Derry are a first class side, but we’ve beaten them here already this season and with a big noisy home crowd behind us, there’s no reason we can’t have a crack at them again. “It’s all to play for, it should be a great tie, but it’s one game at a time and Waterford is our focus at the moment. Waterford “We’ve a lot of injury worries following the games with Killester. I have six or weven players doubtful, but I’m hoping that at half of them will be ready for Saturday. “Waterford have shown in recent weeks that they’re difficult to get past, so we’re taking nothing for granted. We’re going for the highest finish possible and we have to focus on the games ahead of us, and not the teams above us, and the best way of doing that is to keep winning. Kick-off on Saturday night (14 Oct) in The Showgrounds is 7.45 pm. |
