Chris speaks to Club Promotions Officer, Sinead Fraher, about life with the Bit O'Red. This is Chris’s second season with the Rovers after making an impressive debut season with the team last year. Chris has been playing football professionally since he was 13 when he moved from his home, Coleraine in Northern Ireland to Derby County where he was offered a football Scholarship. He played on Derbys first team before transferring club and country to join Sligo Rovers. Chris considers the Bit O'Red a real up and coming club in the Eircom League and he remarked how it is a real welcoming club where he felt very much at home very quickly. Turner is very well known to those who follow Northern Ireland Soccer. Last year, while he was playing his first season for Sligo Rovers, he was also captain for the Northern Ireland Under 19 Team. He then progressed to Under 21 level and he is hoping to consolidate a place on the Team again this year. |
