Active ImageTwenty year old Jason McCartney, speaks to Club Promotions Officer, Sinead Fraher, about life with the Bit O'Red.

Jason is one of Sligo Rovers home grown talents. A committed Sligo Rovers player who has made his childhood ambitions come to life by getting on the Sligo Rovers first team, having come through the ranks of both the under 16 and under 18 teams.

He has been with Rovers for five years and has seen great developments off the pitch from when he first started. Jason used to train full time with the team whilst receiving part time wages in the hope of making the grade. His parents, also true Sligo Rovers supporters themselves, supported their son in his determination to get a first team place.

The family’s hard work has definitely played off and Jason is a firm favourite with the Sligo Fans. A player who prides himself on giving 100% at every game he is excited about the new possibilities that the new Eircom League of Ireland is providing and he is looking forward to continuing to play his best this season.
