Active ImageSligo Rovers will look to return to winning ways when they take the long trip south to face Waterford United this Friday. Manager Paul Cook gives his thoughts on the game to sligorovers.com.

A fine run of victories in June saw Rovers shoot up the table but a 4-1 defeat to Derry City and a frustrating draw at home to Galway United and Cook is hoping to bounce back from the disappointing results

“Every game in this league is difficult but if you have any aspirations for doing well then you have to bounce back quickly [from the Galway result] and start getting results. This is a competitive league and there are no easy games. It is a game we are looking forward to.”

With the transfer window still open rumours are circulating about possible signings and Cook revealed following last weekend’s game that he is still looking to bring in players, but he will not bring in players just for the sake of it

A groin injury forced Brian Cash to be substituted after 30 minutes last weekend against Galway but the prognosis is good for the former Derry City player. Cook is hopeful he will have the midfielder available to start. There are doubts over the fitness of leading scorer Matthew Judge and Raf Cretaro and all three players will be assessed prior to the game.
