Karl Bermingham fired the opener for Waterford midway through the first half as the former Derry City man made a perfect start to his RSC career.

An error from Dean Delaney allowed Kudozovic to level after 34 minutes, the Bosnian getting on the end of Conor O’Grady’s cross to steer the ball to the empty net.

And Kudozovic made it 2-1 with a fine goal in the 71st minute, hammering past Delaney after a powerful run from Raff Cretaro down the right flank.

The Waterford keeper had pulled off an agile double-save to deny Rovers striker Matt Judge moments previously, although the Blues had also come close with substitute Willie John Kiely seeing a header hit the bar just after the hour mark.
