Two goal hero and man of the match Fahrudin Kudozovic spoke to sligorovers.com following the 2-1 success over Waterford United The Bosnian was in buoyant mood following his two goal haul and spoke of the importance to the victory for the side after two disappointing results “Yeah we had a good run before the last two games. We were looking to win last weeks game as well but we couldn’t get there so we really had to come out tonight and pick up the three points. It was as simple as that really. It was either three points or we are not going back home!” He spoke of the consequence it has on Rovers’ league position and to the teams near the bottom of the table ”We are just happy to get the win and luckily enough I got the two goals which is a bonus but the main thing is we got the three points which pushes us up the league and away from the likes of Waterford and Galway. It just kills them off really to be honest. They will have to be winning a good few games and we will have to be losing all of ours so it puts us above that dogfight “ Now he and his teammates once again take on Shamrock Rovers in a game that is huge for the supporters and for Rovers in their quest to push up the league table. Kudozovic holds no fear going into the game and is confident Rovers can perform well in the next run of game ”At home on Friday we have just got to go out and perform. I don’t see why we cant beat Shamrock Rovers. We have done it at Tolka Park and I think we have proven we can play well against them so hopefully we should be looking at picking up three points. Then going away to Cork and coming back here again so it will be an interesting few games but we enjoy playing on good surfaces so I can’t see a problem even against the bigger teams like Cork and Shams.” |
