Some of the players that are going to be playing have been capped for Ireland and some of the girls in the Ulster selection have also been capped. This match is going to be one of the first chances for the Soccer Loving population in the North West to see a Ladies Soccer match of this standard and Sligo Rovers are delighted to have the opportunity to host this event.

Ask any of the footballing loving males in your life who was the most successful Irish footballer playing in England this season and they’ll probably say John O’Shea or one of the lads from Sunderland.

But they’re wrong. Arsenal’s Emma Byrne, Ciara Grant and Yvonne Treacy won the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup and the UEFA Cup as the girls came out on top…again. No wonder women get so much fun from football. Women’s football is the fastest growing sport in Ireland and here’s your chance to get involved.

This weekend the FAI Women’s Football Road show hits O Connell St Sligo. This is your chance to practice your skills, test your ability against Irish international players and have some great fun.

The Road show will be on at 11.30am until 2pm on Saturday next 1st September and the Ocean FM Road caster will be there broadcasting live from 11am

Come and experience the fun of football. Noel King Senior International Manager and Sue Ronan U-19 International Manager will be present as will Sligo Rovers players and Benny the Bull. There will be loads of give aways and prizes.
The International team will play an Ulster selection team in the Showground’s at 6.15pm. This will precede the match between Sligo Rovers and Derry City

Boys and Girls of all ages are invited to attend and enjoy the fun.
