Sligo Rovers boss Paul Cooke took the opportunity last night to give a run out to a number of his fringe players as Rovers finished up their campaign safe in the knowledge that they would finish no worse than sixth in this years Premier Division.Bray needed a win to ensure their survival and pushed forward from the outset.

Alan Cawley became the highest scoring midfielder in the FAI eircom League of Ireland Premier Division as Bray secured the win they were looking for.

Two early goals did the damage at the Carlisle Grounds as Wanderers saw off Rovers.
It also helped set up a bit of history as the 2008 campaign will be first time that the Wicklow club have competed in four years in a row in the top flight.

The Seagulls got off to a perfect stars and took a fourth minute lead.
Paddy Kavanagh's left wing dribble and centre found Stephen Fox who teed up Alan Cawley.
He unleashed a 25-yard drive that took a deflection and looped beyond Tomaslav Arcaba
That lead was doubled with just 12 minutes on the clock.
Kavanagh was again the creator, weaving his way along the left flank and sent in a handing cross.

Former Irish under-19 cap Jay O'Shea rose to guide a 12-yard header in off the far post.
Cawley went close to claiming his eight of the season in the 57th minute. The midfielder tried his luck from 30-yards with the ball clipping the bar.

Having failed to test Steve Williams, the veteran keeper was finally brought into action by the visitors in the 83rd minute when he was forces to palm over Keith Foy's spectacular 35-yard effort.

Rovers did find the net soon after as Ross McLoughlin's cross deceived Williams and dropped over the Welsh man.

Bray almost hit back immediately as Stephen Hurley headed Cawley's cross onto the bar.
