Assistant manager Gerry Carr spoke to sligorovers.com after the win over Finn Harps last Friday.

  • On the 3-2 victory over Finn Harps last Friday

“That was really only our second competitive game, with no disrespect to Coolaney. It is just about getting match fitness into them now. We’re happy with the outcome, it is about doing things right.”

  • On the state of the Showgrounds pitch

“I don’t really want to say too strong of words about it, everyone who has seen it tonight……it is hard to make a comment on it. It is not up to the standard that is required for this league anyway. We’re in desperate need of a roller, I know that costs money but we’re in desperare need of one of them.”

  • On Rommy Boco

“I think everyone can see what he is. I’ve never heard Paul as excited about a player in the time I have known him and I think everyone has seen tonight what he can do. He’ll be a great asset to us, if you add him to your Murphy’s, and your Kudozovic’s and all of those lads we’ve got already. I’m sure people can see it is an exciting squad we have tried to put together.”
