The new eircom reserve team league known as the 'A League' commenced yesterday afternoon with a scoreless draw away to Finn Harps in Ballybofey. The first part of the season is a Shield competition and Rovers are paired with North West rivals, Finn Harps and Derry City.
The winners of the group stages will advance into a knock-out stage due to finish in ealry June.
