Active ImageAn open and frank discussion was held between members and the board of management on the financial situation at the club at a meeting of share-holders last night (Monday). Attended by approximately 50 members, top of the agenda was the future of Premier Division football in Sligo and the club's immediate viability.

Two fundraising ideas were put forward by the management committee

(1)  A members syndicate comprising of €1000 per syndicate

(2)  A share capital drive

Existing members can buy a new share, or if you don't have one this a chance to buy one - the members present and the wider football community in Sligo were asked to help in these ventures.

The meeting also heard that it is a matter of FACT that if Sligo Rovers Football Club do not raise substantial funds by the end of August 2008, the club will no longer exist in football.

A Special General Meeting will be held within the next 4 weeks. Anyone who wishes to help the club with any of the two fundraising ideas or in any other way please contact the Showgrounds on 071 9171212.
