Sligo
Rovers have appealed to their supporters and any potential financial
backers once again as the deadline to raise enough money to save the
club draws near, with nearly another €100,000 still needed to reach the
target after initial efforts.
The Management Committee of the club met tonight, Tuesday 12 August, announcing that €32,955 has been raised so far. €24,650 of this has come from the club's main fundraising initiative- the syndicate scheme, that sees €1000 raised from each card It takes 20 people to each take a €50 share in card. There is a top prize on offer, supplied by the Sligo Weekender, with the chance to visit Anfield to see Liverpool play Manchester United on 13 September. This prize includes flights, accommodation and transfers.
19 days remain for the club to try to raise as much money as possible so the desire for everyone to increase their efforts to secure the future of Sligo Rovers grows stronger. There are over 80 syndicate cards remaining, which could raise €80,000. We appeal to everyone to considering taking one.
We realize that so far many people have gone above and beyond the call of duty and that perhaps we are appealing to the same people who have strived to raise so much money thus far. We hope that the efforts up to today will inspire others to follow suit and help save Sligo Rovers Football Club.
The club would like to whole heartedly thank our loyal fans and supporters group who contributed so far. Every amount is vital, as is any further financial assistance.
