Premier League side Sligo Rovers have opted to extend their emergency fundraising campaign after the end of August deadline expired.
“The concept has proved so popular with our supporters that we will run the initiative during September,” commented a spokesperson for the leading League of Ireland club.
 
Plans include the introduction of an Annual Premier Bonus Share scheme which is renewable every 12 months. Next week club officials will launch the concept which offers supporters a choice of gold, silver and bronze membership for €1,000, €500 or €250.
 
The package includes a season ticket, seat-specific in the red or blue stand, match programme and refreshments at home games. Access to the newly-constructed post-match players’ lounge, access to the car park. Discount vouchers for official Sligo Rovers sportswear and for the all-weather pitch as well as free places for children at the Super Reds summer camps.
 
“There is great interest in the gold, silver and bronze membership schemes and we anticipate the initial issue of 1,000 shares will sell out and generate in excess of €750,000, due mainly to our efforts in speaking directly to supporters,” added the club spokesperson.
 
“We are already planning for next season as a result of this,” the club official concluded..
