Late first half goals from Ismahil Akinade and Anto Murphy saw Bohemians take all three points as the Bit O'Red fell to 2-0 defeat at the Showgrounds.
Ismahil Akinade headed Keith Long's charges into the lead with six minutes of the opening half remaining. Dylan Hayes was unable to guide Eoin Wearen's cross from the right towards goal but instead the ball hung in the air for Akinade to powerfully head beyond Richard Brush.
Bohs compounded the Showgrounds' misery six minutes later as the Gypsies doubled their lead. The away side profited from more lackadaisical Rovers defending as the unmarked Anto Murphy nodded past Brush from a Jake Kelly corner.
The Bit O'Red enjoyed ample possession in dangerous areas but were unable to capitalise at any stage against a stout Dalymount rearguard.
Both Morten Nielsen and Sander Puri produced two good first half saves from Bohs 'keeper Dean Delany. While Keith Ward went close with a free-kick mid-way through the second half.
