Sligo Rovers under-19s got another win this weekend to make it four in a row and six games unbeaten now.
Derry City we the opponents for Ciaran Kelly’s team but a goal from Gary Armstrong was enough to see off the Candystripes at the Showgrounds.
Full-back Ryan O’Donoghue, winger Paul Doyle and attacker Mikey Place all came into the team to replace Callum Frempong, Jason Hunt and Brian Morley.
The goal came on 18 minutes when Ross Taheny had an effort blocked by the hand of a Derry player giving Rovers a penalty.
Up stepped Gary Armstrong and as he had done in the reverse fixture in The Brandywell he put the ball in for the back of the net.
That was enough for the win with the Bit o’Red defence keeping a clean sheet at the back.
Rovers will be at home next weekend again against Dundalk on Sunday looking to get closer to a play-off place.
