Sligo Rovers under-19s picked up a big 3-1 win at The Showgrounds against Finn Harps to end their 100% record this year.
It takes the team to four games unbeaten. Having lost on the opening day to Drogheda two draws were gained away to Derry City and Dundalk followed by a win at home to Letterkenny Rovers and now Finn Harps.
Ciaran Kelly brought Mikey Place and Jason Hunt into the team in palce of Mark Hannon and Paul Doyle in a home game for Finn Harps that was moved to The Showgrounds.
A rapid start to the game saw Rovers go 2-0 in front with only seven minutes on the clock with both coming from Liam Flatley.
After four minutes he got his first and followed it up three minutes later to make it four in two games for the Manulla man.
Ross Taheny met a corner from Brian Morley on 28 minutes with a header that almost got a third.
The third did come 10 minutes afterwards when Gary Armstrong struck home a composed side foot finish from the edge of the box.
Mark Hannon replaced Mikey Place at half-time and the Ballbofey club threatened a second half comeback with a goal five minutes in from Keelan McDermott.
But Rovers remained the better side and on 72 minutes came closest to getting the next goal through Cathal Carney as he blocked a clearance by the Harps keeper but seen the ball get cleared off the line.
In stoppage time it looked to be four as a Jason Hunt cross got knocked into his own net by a Finn Harps defender but the referee seen a foul.
The win puts the Bit o'Red up to second in Section 3 as the season reaches the halfway mark.
