Sligo Rovers dropped to tenth position in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division table following a 2-1 defeat at Galway United.
Ryan Curran's two opportunistic strikes on 65 and 67 gave the Tribesmen a two goal lead mid-way through the second period. Rovers failed to clear their lines before Curran turned in the game's opener. A mix-up between Richard Brush and Gavin Peers led to Curran's second.
Dinny Corcoran halved the deficit six minutes from time. While the Bit O'Red were extremely unlucky not to level the game in the dying moments. Morten Nieslen's thumping effort rifled past Conor Winn only for the Dane to have been adjudged offside.
The Bit O'Red's next game is a vital league clash away to Longford Town this Saturday evening.
