Longford Town 1-1 Sligo Rovers
A last minute Anthony Elding goal secured Sligo Rovers a vital point as the Bit O'Red drew 1-1 with Longford Town at City Calling Stadium.
Town substiute Kaleem Simon had given the home side the lead with eight minutes remaining however Elding sent a looping header over Paul Skinner on the stroke of full-time to earn Rovers a share of the spoils.
It was no more than Micky Adams' side deserved as Rovers went close to taking the lead on several occasions. Both Gavin Peers and Dinny Corcoran saw goal bound efforts cleared off the Longford line while Raffaele Cretaro hit the post with a well struck effort, all during a busy first period.
Rovers' task was made that bit tougher when Tim Clancy was dismissed by referee Sean Grant after an altercation with a Longford player on 25.
Tony Cousins' charges took the lead on 82 when Simon latched on to Philip Gannon's cross from the left.
Longford looked like they might hang on for their first win over Rovers this season. But Elding managed to out-jump his marker and headed Jason Hughes' long ball over the outstretched arms of Skinner with 90 minutes played.
