Sligo Rovers under-17s eased through the first stage of the inaugural Mark Farren Memorial Cup.
The Showgrounds saw a 5-0 win to eliminate Longford Town from the competition.
The hero of the night was forward Gary Higgins with four of The Bit o’Red goals.
Mayo’s Higgins cored first after four minutes and again before half-time.
Jack Hever from Ballymote scored after an hour followed by a lobbed effort from Higgins to make it a hat-trick.
He finally added one more late on in the game.
Details of the draw for the next round will be announced in due course.
Next is a trip for a game with Athlone town, back in the Elite Northern Division this Saturday afternoon.
