Sligo Rovers under-17s emphatically defeated Longford Town Wednesday night at The Showgrounds 4-0.
The impressive performance sees The Bit o'Red bounce back from a two goal away loss to St. Pat's 10 days ago.
The team was unchanged from that game and thanks to three first half goals never looked like losing.
First to score was Jack Keaney for his first Rovers goal. A high shot from the left foot of the centre midfielder put the home team ahead.
That was followed by John Mahon sweeping the ball home as he reacted to a set-piece into Longford's box coming back into play and beat the keeper.
Before Longford could think of getting back into the game another goal arrived. Gary Higgins continued his fine start to the season with his third goal of 2016
The Mayo forward scoring with a shot beyond the reach of the keeper's dive to his right from just inside the box.
Rovers stayed on top and dominated the second half with a fourth and final goal calling off the win late in the half.
Sub Cian McAllister was the man to make it four tapping in at close range opening his tally for the season.
The win sends Rovers into fourth place in the table with a trip to Shelbourne next in nine days.
