Sligo Rovers have under-17s secured qualification to the end of season play-offs.

The Bit o’Red got there with a 2-0 win over Athlone Town.

The top four from the northern and southern divisions of the first full season of national under-17 football make the knock-out quarter-finals.

They will begin on week-ending October 23 with full details to be confirmed here shortly.

The win came with goals by midfielders Darren Collins and Liam Kerrigan. It made it just one defeat in the last nine Showgrounds games.
