Sligo Rovers under-17s continued their good season with a 5-2 defeat of Monaghan United-Cavan FP.

The Showgrounds win keeps the Bit o’Red unbeaten for give games.

It keeps hold of the fourth position in the Northern Division which is the final position to qualify for the end of season play-offs.

The first goal was a lovely header from a right wing cross for midfielder Liam Kerrigan.

A second goal came as captain Ruadhan Feeney found the net from the left of the box.

Shortly after the second Tubbercurry player to score, following Kerrigan, was striker Aaron Perry with a nice side-foot finish on his right foot.

Into the second half Dillon Munnelly stretched the lead and then got the Ballina youngster got the fifth and final Rovers goal.

Remaining for Rovers is a trip to Drogheda United next week followed by the season ending game hosting Athlone Town on the first weekend of October.
