Mauro Almeida has signed a contract with Sligo Rovers for the 2010 season, the club can announce.

The Portugese defender left the club last July after a series of injury problems.

He return to training with the club earlier this month and having come through it successfully, Paul Cook swooped to add Almeida to his squad.

Jason McCartney has also agreed a return to the Showgrounds. The Sligo native moves from Longford Town.
