Sligo Rovers are through to the semi-finals of the Setanta Sports Cup after beating Cliftonvillle 3-0 at the Showgrounds on Saturday night. First half goals from Danny Ventre and Eoin Doyle put Rovers on the way against an experimental Cliftonville line-up. Padraig Amond rounded off the scoring in the second half with his first competitive goal for the Bit o' Red. The Bit o' Red were deserving winners and manager Paul Cook will be pleased with the run-out ahead of the opening game of the Airtricity Premier Division season on Saturday against Shamrock Rovers.
