Sligo Rovers are delighted to announce three more signings ahead of the new Airtricity League season.

David Cawley signs for the Bit o’ Red after leaving Championship side Ipswich Town.

Cawley, from Ballina, has penned a one-year deal having impressed on trial in recent weeks.

Cawley said: “It is brilliant. I have been here for a month training and I’m delighted to sign. It is a relief to get it sorted and I just can’t wait for the first game of the season. I came back from England last year and I’ve wanted to kick on with a club in Ireland.

“I know all about Sligo Rovers, I’ve seen the success the club has had with the FAI Cups. I was keeping an eye out even when I was with Ipswich because it was a fantastic achievement and I just want to help drive it on.

“We have a great group of lads with the club. I’ve seen that in the month that I’ve been here and it is brilliant to be part of it now.”

Liam Martin and Colm McLoughlin, members of the club’s scholarship initative, have signed their first professional contracts with the club.

The duo have penned two-year-deals to continue their development with Sligo Rovers.
