Sligo Rovers Dublin Golf Classic

The Sligo Rovers Dublin Golf Classic will take place this May, the club is delighted to confirm.

Over 28 teams participated and 100 plus guests enjoyed a gala dinner in the superb facilities of Luttrellstown Golf Club in 2011.

The very generous contributions of all who participated helped raise €12,500 for the club and after a break in 2012, the event will be staged again on Thursday 16 May.

As Rovers continue to go from strength to strength, the progress on and off-the-field is benefited by fundraisers such as the Dublin Golf Classic.

Capital projects to improve facilities in The Showgrounds included a new 1,300-seater stand which was completed in 2012, thereby allowing the club to host UEFA Category 3 matches for the first time in its history this summer.

Plans are also well developed for further improvements which will be part-funded by a government sports capital grant awarded in December 2012.

On the pitch the Bit o’ Red continue to be a great source of pride for the local community.

Raising funds on a continuous basis is vital if we are to achieve our many goals; participation in the wider community, improving facilities and infrastructure at the Showgrounds, maintaining a successful senior and youth teams.
