Rovers set to take on Cork in FAI Cup

Sligo Rovers face Cork City in The Showgrounds this Saturday night as FAI Cup football makes a welcome return to Sligo, kick-off 7:45pm.

Winners of the competition in 2010 and 2011, Rovers will be looking to build on overcoming Waterford United 2-0 away from home earlier this season to reach this last 16 stage.

Rovers goalkeeper and coach Ciaran Kelly attended the launch of Ford’s Greatest Ever FAI Cup Final Campaign yesterday in Dublin with the wins in 1983 and against Shamrock Rovers three years ago among the 10 nominated finals.

Pictured below with Cork City's Johnny Dunleavy, Kelly said: "This is a competition special to me and special to the club. Cork will give us a very hard game, we know that, and we know what we have to do to get to the next round."

Rovers v Cork is this Saturday in The Showgrounds, tickets are available at turnstiles on the night.
