U19s record impressive win over Cobh

A Ruairi Keating brace along with strikes from Michael Casey, Liam Flately and Colm Nevin gave Sligo Rovers U19s a deserved 5-2 win over Cobh Ramblers U19s at the Showgrounds on Saturday afternoon in their U19 Elite Division clash.

The Bit o'Red dominated large parts of the opening half and stormed into an early lead courtesy of close range finishes from Casey and Keating.

Rovers then went three ahead early in the second half through Nevin. Cobh replied moments later to make it 3-1.

Rovers reopened their three goal advantage soon after. Liam Flately's wonderful volley from the edge of the Ramblers area flew over the head of the Cobh goalkeeper before rebounding off the bottom of the corssbar and into the net.

Cobh cut Rovers' lead back to three late in the second half before Keating claimed his second and the home side's fifth.

Rovers:  Murphy, Glennon, Donnellan, Boylan, Taheny, Nevin, Flately, Casey, Keating, Armstrong, Brennan.

Subs:  Kennoy, Kilcawley, McManus, Loftus, Chambers.
