1,000 tickets sold for Champions League qualifier

1,000 tickets for Sligo Rovers’ Champions League second round qualifying game in The Showgrounds were sold today.

The first day of ticket sales were open to the club’s season ticket holders, members and 500 club members.

The capacity for the game will be just under 4,000. The draw for the second round is next Monday in Nyon, Switzerland

Possible opponents for the Bit o' Red include Celtic, BATE Borisov, Steaua Bucharest and Dinamo Zagreb as Rovers make a return to the premier club competition in Europe for the first time in 36 years.

Tickets will be on sale again on Tuesday and on Wednesday they will go on general sale to all supporters in The Showgrounds and online on the club’s website www.sligorovers.com

The club wish to strongly advise supporters to purchase tickets as early as possible with a sell-out of home tickets possible prior to Monday’s draw.
