Rovers paired with Drogheda in semi-finals

Sligo Rovers will face Drogheda United in the Setanta Sports Cup semi-finals after the draw was made following progression to the last four tonight.

The two-legged tie is scheduled for 16 & 22 April and Rovers will be away first in Hunky Dorys Park before a return tie at The Showgrounds.

Earlier tonight, the Bit o' Red were 3-0 winners against Glentoran for an 8-0 aggregate win in the quarter-finals.

Lee Lynch, Raffaele Cretaro and Liam Martin were on the scoresheet in The Oval.

Sligo became the first side to reach four successive semi-finals in the competition in its history with qualification tonight.

The club has never reached the decider and now Mick Cooke's men stand in the way of a historic place in the decider.

Drogheda accounted for Rovers in the EA Sports Cup last season and beat Derry City 3-2 on agg tonight.

The other tie sees Shamrock Rovers take on Cork City.
