Sligo Rovers Dublin Golf Classic

The Sligo Rovers Dublin Golf Classic was held on May 16th in the fantastic Luttrellstown Golf Club in the capital, proving an extremely enjoyable day out for all participants.

33 teams took part in the event, a total of 132 golfers, with a shotgun start from 1:30pm and a competitive and enthuasiastic field.
 
Michael McNulty's team were victorious on 89 points after the 18 holes. Goodbody Stockbrokers were runner-up with Zurich General in third place and Fleet First in fourth.

Among the golfers were RTÉ's Des Cahill and Alan Cawley, Volkswagen Group Head Simon Elliott and Neil Francis while Eamonn Coughlan, captain of Luttrellstown, attended a sold out dinner after the action on the course.
 
Ian Baraclough, vice-chairman Dermot Kelly and Roddy Murphy and Gerry Hargadon, members of the organising committee, spoke as part of the cermeony and distributed prizes to the winners.
 
 
Sligo Rovers would like to thank all entrants and suporters of the event, as the final calculations are made it is hoped to surpass the €12,500 raised at the last golf day in 2011 in Dublin.

The proceedings will help achieve our many goals of participation in the wider community, improving facilities and infrastructure at The Showgrounds and maintaining a successful team on-the-field.
