Team news for Derry game

Sligo Rovers welcome Derry City to The Showgrounds on Monday for a Bank Holiday Airtricity Premier Division fixture at 5pm.

The top two in the league clash as Ian Baraclough's team look to repeat the success of the first day of the season when Rovers beat Derry 1-0 in The Brandywell

Rovers will be without Anthony Elding due to suspension after a red card against Shamrock Rovers in the 1-1 draw in Tallaght Stadium on Friday.

Danny North, Seamus Conneely (both knee) and Ciaran Kelly (fractured sternum) are out with injuries. Iarfhlaith Davoren and Ross Gaynor are back after serving suspensions.

Raffaele Cretaro is in the squad with a view to featuring after a thigh problem.

Bit o' Red boss Ian Baraclough said: "We’ve trained on Saturday and Sunday and are in decent spirits as we should be. There is a freshness in the group despite playing just a few days ago. It is important for us to get back to winning ways. We haven’t won for three league games which is something we are not used to. I know we have only lost one league match all season, but at home the onus is on us to produce and we're excited at the prospect of another big encounter in front of our own supporters.

"We are without Anthony and we have to get on with that now. I'm not sure if the red card was warranted but we have to deal with it. Raffaele Cretaro is back in the squad, he wasn't quite right for Friday's game and we're hopeful he can play a part. We have players that have experience playing up front previously and we will call on it if we need to.

"Since that defeat against us, Derry have been on a terrific run in the league. They've managed to avoid some of the injury problem that hampered them last season. I knew they had recruited well at the start of the season. They are a threat in this league and they will travel to Sligo full of confidence. I don't think things will be won and lost on Monday's game but we know the importance of getting three points on the board and that is what we are targeting."
