FAI Cup kick-off time confirmed

Sligo Rovers can confirm the FAI Ford Cup semi-final clash with Shamrock Rovers will take place on Sunday 6 October at 3:55pm in The Showgrounds.

Tickets will go on sale later this week with finalised details set to be announced by the club shortly. The match will be all-ticket.

Rovers manager Ian Baraclough said after the draw: "It is a mouth-watering tie. We knew before the draw that there was no easy game and no matter which team we faced, it would be a difficult prospect.

"But a home draw is something we wanted and it’s a game to really look forward to.

"It is also a tie that both sets of fans will be excited about. There will be huge interest and the incentive is there for everybody to see. It is a chance to reach a cup final at the Aviva Stadium and we will be doing all we can to get there.

"The games between the sides have been very close this season. It will be tight and it may take a moment of brilliant to divide the teams."

If a replay is required, it will take place on Wednesday 9 October in Tallaght Stadium at 8pm.
