The Sligo Rovers 500 Club

The Sligo Rovers 500 club is on the lookout for new members in 2014 - you can make a difference in the future of the club and become a member of SRFC.

The 500 club has contributed over €850,000 to the running of Sligo Rovers in the last 11 seasons.

Each season the 500 clubs provides a backbone to the club’s operations on-the-pitch and our key work in the community in the North-West.

Concurrent membership of the 500 club to a commitment of three seasons also brings membership of the football club and eligibility to attend the club’s AGM.

Every 500 club member is entered into a monthly draw where first prize is now €500 and there are five runner-up prizes of €100 each and two residual prizes of €50.

This makes a total of €13,200 paid out each year in prize money.

Tony Quinn, Sligo Rovers chairman and key member of the 500 club committee, believes increasing membership will provide even more potential for the new season.

He said: "The donation to Sligo Rovers from the 500 club has risen from €41,800 in 2003 to a high of €122,850 in 2012. By welcoming new members we grow stronger in the ever-competitive Airtricity League but also a football club and a key contributor to our locality.

"This is an exciting time to join the 500 club. On the field we are attempting to add to our list of honours in 2014. There is no room for complacency but there are many areas in which we can improve . The management committee is working tirelessly to develop all the aspects of Sligo Rovers. Ian Baraclough and his staff are assembling players that will help us challenge. Our fan base is growing and our membership is the base for long-term stability."
