New coaching and Showgrounds visit for SL clubs

As part of our continuing commitment to foster stronger links in the community, Sligo Rovers and the Sligo Leitrim Youth League clubs have began a new partnership that will last the entire 2014 season.

The young players of the Sligo Leitrim Youth League clubs will become a vital part of our matchday and the Bit o' Red's coaching team and stars will be visiting every club in the league over the next eight months.

The first part of this initiative will be an invitation to clubs to have one of their underage teams as guests of honour in The Showgrounds on match night where they will have provide the match day ball boys, take part in five a-side games at half-time and have photo opportunity with non-playing squad members on the night.

In the week preceding a club's visit to the Showgrounds, a Sligo Rovers coach and players will attend the junior club's training session and afterwards there will be an opportunity for autographs and photographs.

A schedule has been arranged for 16 clubs for the 16 home league fixtures.

The four remaining clubs have been ranked where each Cup match will be allotted to the first home Cup game.  These four clubs will also receive a coaching visit also.

A member of the Sligo Rovers committee will liaise with club secretaries in advance of visits to co-ordinate the visits.  Sligo Rovers wish to thank the Sligo Leitrim Youth League for their help and support and we look forward to welcoming all clubs over the course of the year.
