Community visits and medal presentations

In the build-up to Saturday's match in the Showgrounds against St Patrick's Athletic, the players and coaching staff of Sligo Rovers have had one of the busiest weeks working in the football community.

Visits this week to coach players at Carrick Town FC and Strand Celtic FC, both of whom will be supplying the ball boys for the next two home games, were well received by the respective clubs and we will have a further look at those sessions with a selection of images next week.

Saturday and Monday will see the players of Carrick and Strand visit The Showgrounds so watch out for their players on the field at half-time as they play five-a-side matches.

In addition to the two club visits, medals were presented by Rovers stars to various teams in Tubbercurry, Boyle, Riverstown, Strandhill, Ballymote and Merville at a total of eight different games as the Sligo-Leitrim and District Youth and School Boys League approaches the conclusion of its season.

As series one of this year's SSE Airtricity Premier Division comes to a close on Saturday, the club is delighted with the growing relationship with local clubs and football in the wider community.

If your club, team or organisation would like to contact Sligo Rovers for information, then please email [email protected] and we will be happy to answer your query.
