Team news: Longford vs Rovers

Sligo Rovers travel to take on Longford Town at City Calling Stadium on Friday night at 7:45pm.

Rovers will be looking to build on last week’s first win of the season in the league with a 1-0 victory over Galway United.

This will be a first game with newly promoted Longford Town since 2007 when they were last in the top division.

Owen Heary has some injury problems defensively going into the game.

Jeff Henderson remains out with a foot injury while Gavin Peers groin problem will again keep him out of this game. 18 year-old Ryan McManus who deputised for Peers in Galway will also miss out with a groin injury.

Steven Beattie is absent for the game as he continues to be troubled by a hamstring problem.

The injuries to Peers, McManus and Beattie are week to week and it is hoped they will be available for the visit of Bohemians on Monday.

There are no suspension problems for the Bit o’Red as Keith Ward and Danny Ledwith return from bans though Ledwith will miss Monday’s game with Bohs with a suspension.
