Rally fund tops €20,000 on day six

Six days into Rally Around Rovers, the fundraising drive from a group of Sligo Rovers fans, and €20,000 has now been pledged to the Bit o’ Red.

In under a week, supporters of the club have shown incredible support in a time when Sligo Rovers are facing a number of difficult challenges.

The halfway point has been reached in the target set by the supporters group. Over the next two weeks, the aim is to reach €40,000 and help bring about a brighter future for Rovers.  The group are asking each supporter to contribute €10 a week or €100 in a single payment if preferred.

Members of the fundraising sub-committee also will be at the Shamrock Rovers game next week beside the programme shop if supporters wish to make a payment on the night. Many €10 a week payments were made at the Derry game – these can be made each week in The Showgrounds or at home games.  The group wish to thanks every supporter that has donated so far and are delighted with the backing it has received.

As part of this process we will take a detailed look at the club's running costs, presenting our analysis of this data to supporters and participating in a discussion forum with supporters at the end of the season.
