UEFA payment for 2016 confirmed

The Bit o’ Red can confirm that the club will next year receive a payment from UEFA as a result of Financial Fair Play.

Rovers, Derry City, Dundalk and St Patrick's Athletic will each receive €38,970 through UEFA's Financial Fair Play Payments Redistribution system for the 2014/15 season.

This is a redistribution of monies withheld from other clubs who competed in European competition in the 2014/15 season and breached the Financial Fair Play rules.

The club had been aware of the forthcoming payment since earlier in the year and has been factored into the 2016 budget.

Club secretary Brendan Lacken said: "We are very pleased to welcome the UEFA payment from the FFP. It will be a timely boost when arriving early next year."
