Sligo-Leitrim u12s win Foyle Cup

Sligo-Leitrim under-12s won the Foyle Cup in Derry last weekend with a dramatic penalty shoot-out win over Letterkenny.

The Donegal club took the lead early in the game but Sligo-Leitrim responded with a 24th minute equaliser from the head of Caelan Hunt.

Keeper Eanna Clacny kept them in the game early in the second half with some impressive saves and the game looked like it might be won late when Dylan Walsh scored with a super strike, there was just eight minutes left to play.

But another goal back from Letterkenny just a few minutes later meant that penalties would be required to decide the match at The Brandywell Stadium.

The shootout was equally dramatic with a 4-3 win for Sligo-Leitrim thanks to a decisive spot-kick from Kailan Barlow.

Sligo/Leitrim: Eanna Clancy; Cathal Og O’Connell, Dylan Walsh, Daniel Kilcullen, Caelan Hunt; Ben Kelly, John Heraghty, Jack Lane, Kenneth Ogun, Michael Langan, Josh Mulrennan; Subs - John Kenny, Peter Maguire, Kailan Barlow, Canice Mulligan, Sean McAteer, Mark Heraghty, David Hannon.
