Sligo Rovers go in search of a first league win of the new season tonight against Derry City.

This will be the second home game of the year so far with a dramatic 1-1 draw with Cork city opening the season.

Owen Heary's team will look to bounce back from a 3-2 loss to Drogheda United last week.

Derry got the better of the games last year with two wins for them and one draw.

Team news

Rovers:  The Bit o’Red will once again play without two members of the squad with injuries to Jeff Henderson and Richard Brush.

Henderson picked up a foot injury in pre-season while Brush injured his shoulder on the opening night against Cork.

Derry: They have injury doubts over Barry McNamee, Ger Doherty and Shaun Kelly but former Rovers striker Anthony Elding is in the squad.

Interviews

Owen Heary: "Looking back at the two games so far against Cork we conceded in the 97th minute and we came away disappointed from that game but we would have taken a point. But against Drogheda we dominated the game and came away with nothing which was disappointing. One point from a possible six is not good enough so it will be important that we get the three points tomorrow to put that right.”

Sander Puri:  “It’s been really good so far. The games have been different to pre-season, which is what I expected. I think I still need to get used to the League of Ireland but I will soon. Our first game against Cork was a good result when you think about it. Obviously the result against Drogheda wasn’t good. But I have enjoyed it so far.

“Every day is getting better here. The fields are getting greener and the days are getting longer. The players like that and the fans like that too. I really like it here.”
