Team news: Rovers vs Drogheda

 

Sligo Rovers are back in The Showgronds tomorrow night for an important game with Drogheda United at 7:45.

The Bit o’Red were unlucky to lose last week to a late Cork City goal having gone close to winning the game moments before.

A win can see Rovers move ahead of Drogheda who sit one place higher on the league table.

Rovers have been given a boost with the return from injury of Gavin Peers who has been missing since the EA Sports cup loss to Derry City in early April with a groin injury.

Morten Nielsen is also available again having missed to Cork game.

There is one new absentee joinging Jeff Henderson in missing the game with Jake Dykes out with a hamstring injury which forced him off at half time in Turner’s Cross. It’s likely to keep him out for three to four weeks.

Owen Heary said on the return of Peers: “It’s good to have Gavin back. He is one of our most experienced players. He is a good defender and a good leader over a long number of years. It’s great that he is fully recovered and can come back into the squad for tomorrow.”
