Tickets on sale for celebrity game


Rory's Celebrity Heroes v the Boys in Blue Saturday 23rd May The Showgrounds (Sligo) K.O 2 pm. It will be followed by after match party at the Clarion Hotel Sligo with celebrity meet and greet from 7:30pm.

Tickets for the party go on sale this Wednesday 6th May from the Clarion Hotel, Sligo. Tickets can be purchased online by emailing [email protected]

Rory is 2 years old; he has cerebral palsy he is currently unable to walk. His parents Shauna & Gerry Gallagher form Cliffoney are in the process of fundraising to take to little Rory to Missouri in the USA for surgery & treatment which will allow their little boy take his first steps. 19 Irish children have previously undergone this surgery & little Rory is the youngest child from Ireland to have ever been accepted. Rory has an older brother Kyle 15 and sister Lily aged 10 who just can't wait to see wee Rory take his first steps. While his Mum Shauna is looking forward to marking his height on the door frame as she has done with Rory’s two siblings.

Rory Gallaghers Wish to Walk are Charity partner of the Sligo Rovers. His parents are delighted with the support of the club and especially Owen Heary Manager. They are very excited ahead of the celebrity fundraising events day.



Owen Heary will take to the pitch on the other side of the line joined by an All-Star selection will include our two Olympic heroes Paddy Barnes and Michael Conlan, GAA legend Eamonn O'Hara and Richie Sadlier, a Irish former professional footballer and currently a pundit at RTÉ Sport. Liam O'Brien former Manchester United midfielder and Joseph Ndo Sligo's icon and former Cameroon international footballer are also ready to tog out. Both played at the highest level internationally.

G.A.A. star Paul Taylor will be taking part as will former Sligo Rovers Captain, Conor O'Grady. Alan Cawley, pundit form RTÉ MNS and former League of Ireland player will be taking part as will Nicky Broujos, former Sligo Rovers keeper. Darragh Cox from Ocean FM Ireland will be along to help little Rory’s Side win the Match. This game will see Rory’s Heroes take on the long arm of the law & is sure to be a fantastic match with Mark Irwin local Garda leading out the boys in blue.

The Rory Gallagher's Wish To Walk All-Star Selection will be strengthened further by other big name “signings” to be announced in the coming weeks!

Support from local business would be very much welcomed, Mammy Johnsons Ice- Cream Parlour was first to come on board with €500 to sponsor Eamonn O Hara.

On the night Mr Robert Fitzpatrick will be auctioneer - we have some beautiful pieces of art donated by some hugely talented artists such as Julie Potter & we will also be auctioning off some dinner dates with our Sligo Rovers lads. Lisa Brady is DJ for the night.

Celebrity guest appearances, an auction & Musical entertainment by the ROLLIN'EMPIRE DJ Lisa Brady will see us dance into the small hours with a Disco Tickets €15 p.p onsale at the Clarion Hotel.
