Schlingermann signs


Sligo Rovers are delighted to announce Micheal Schlingermann as Dave Robertson’s first signing.

The keeper returns to where he started his career at The Showgrounds having left in 2009 with one appearance.

Since then the Mayoman has established himself as one of the top keepers’ in the league and was named in the PFAI Team of the Year for his performances this year with Drogheda United.

After initially joining Athlone Town from Rovers he signed for Drogheda in 2012 following a short stint with Monaghan United.

He was part of the Drogheda team that finished as runner-up in all three domestic cup competitions in 2013, including the FAI Cup to Rovers.

He was an ever-present with Drogheda last season playing every minute of the league season and has a total 134 career appearances.

Schlingermann joins John Russell, Regan Donelon and Gary Boylan in Dave Robertson’s squad for 2016 so far.

He will be unveiled at a press conference at Connolly’s Volkswagen this Thursday.
