First season win for u-17s

 

Sligo Rovers under-17s scored a first three points of the new season at Finn Harps.

The Bit o’Red came away with a 2-1 win Saturday afternoon.

Striker Mark Byrne got his first of the season on 23 minutes with a hader from James McGrath's cross.

Gary Higgins followed that up on 29 when Byrne turned provider to cross for him from the right, Higgins scored for the second game in a row by reacting quickest after his initial shot was denied.

Harps did get a goal back on 72 but it wasn't enough to get anything from the game.

Rovers had lost to Bohemians in a tight 4-2 season opener last weekend.

The under-17s will go on to face Dundalk at the Showgrounds in a week’s time.
