Pats v Rovers: Team News

Sligo Rovers will be away to St. Patrick’s Athletic tomorrow evening at 7:45pm in game seven of the SSE Airtricity League season.

The game at Richmond Park will be the first time the Bit o’Red will be on live TV with the match being broadcast on RTE2.

Rovers come into the game with renewed confidence from an impressive display when taking a 0-0 draw against a strong Cork City team in an entertaining Showgrounds game last weekend.

Although Richmond Park has not often been a happy place for Rovers to visit the last time the teams met in October two goals from Dinny Corcoran gave the Bit o’Red the win and ensured Premier Division survival in the process.

Corcoran has since departed to join St. Pat’s along with midfielder David Cawley who will face his old team for the first time.

In team news there will be late fitness tests needed for defender Tim Clancy and Gavin Peers. They have trained this week but Dave Robertson will wait until closer the game before making a final decision.

Both centre-backs missed the Cork City game due to a groin injury for Clancy and a thigh problem for Peers.

Despite feeling the effects of a groin problem late in the Cork City keeper Micheal Schlingermann has trained well all week and is fully fit for this weekend.

Phil Roberts is a confirmed absentee a he serves the final game of a suspension for red card against Galway United three weeks ago.
