Jaanai Gordon comes to Rovers

Sligo Rovers are delighted to confirm the signing of Jaanai Gordon from West Ham.

The striker comes to The Showgrounds on loan until the end of August.

The 20 year-old was born in Northampton and played under Dave Robertson at Peterborough United having come through the club’s youth academy.

He made his debut for them in a Championship game against Wolves on September 22 2012 and made seven first team appearances before moving to West Ham.

Gordon joined West Ham on December 31 2013 and was an unused sub for their FA Cup tie against Nottingham Forest a month later.

He has had loan spells with Chelmsford City, where he scored five times in 10 games, and Nuneaton Town in the Conference with whom he played five times with one goal towards the end of the 2014/15 season.

This season he has been with the West Ham Development Squad scoring four goals in just ten games and was part of the team that made it through to the Premier League Cup semi-finals with a win against Blackburn Rovers last night.

He is signing number 14 so far as the 2016 Rovers squad continues to take shape.
