Lyons latest squad addition

Sligo Rovers are very pleased to confirm that Dave Robertson has added forward Chris Lyons to the Bit o’Red squad.

The 22 year-old from Bray began his career with U.C.D. before spells at Bohemians and Shamrock Rovers and most recently, his local side Bray Wanderers.

After playing his youth football at Belvedere he made his U.C.D. debut under Martin Russell in September 2011 against Galway United and scored two goals before the end of the season in five games.

After establishing himself in the first team in 2012 with two goals in 25 games at Belfield he signed for Bohemians. There he added seven goals and made 24 appearances with the Gypsies.

That led to a move to Shamrock Rovers where he played with the Hoops ‘B’ team. He finished the year as top scorer with six from just 20 games.

Bray Wanderers signed Lyons for 2015 and he missed just three league games as he finished with 35 appearances and four goals.

He joins the 2016 Rovers squad which already includes Micheal Schlingermann, Gary Boylan, Tim Clancy, Regan Donelon, Raff Cretaro, John Russell, Gary Armstrong, Jimmy Keohane and Kieran Sadlier.
