19s beat Palace in thriller

Sligo Rovers under-19s earned an impressive 5-4 win against Crystal Palace under-18s.

Four of the goals came from Jason Hunt, all in the first half, in the win in Ballina.

Hunt’s first goal brought the game to 1-1 with a 25-yeard free-kick.

He then brought the game back to 2-2 before getting his hat-trick from the penalty spot.

His final goal put Rovers 4-3 ahead on 41 minutes as all four of his goals were scored inside 13 minutes.

Following an eight-goal first half the second had just one goal. It came from left-back Fintan Borotto and won the game in the 71st minute.

The Bit o’Red get back to league football this Sunday at home to Shelbourne. The game is in The Showgrounds at 2pm.
